Covell Award Nominee: Junior Sa’u

We have withheld this nomination until now because we’re pretty sure that nothing is going to beat this effort for the 2012 Covell Award.

All the way back in round 5, Junior Sa’u was thrown the ball to take the conversion when he sure didn’t want to. The game was over, the Knights had lost and nobody gave a crap about the kick. What a recipe for success.

Junior duly delivered, sending this low and wide and nearly collecting a few Storm players on the way. The commentators sum it all up beautifully.

This kick is almost a certainty for the Award in 2012, and Junior will now go down as a League Legend.
