Premier League Darts Week 2 Preview

Wes Newton vs Raymond Van Barneveld

This really should be a walkover. Wes Newton just can’t seem to get started in the Premier League, his “around the wicket” style has not reaped the rewards and nothings going to change coming up against Raymond van Barneveld who was ELECTRIFYING last week – in my opinion he was the most impressive on the night. Barney looks a determined man at the moment and he will win well.

Dave Chisnall vs Peter Wright

Dave Chisnall wasn’t at his best last week but he still managed to just get past the Thorn. He’ll need to step it up this week to beat Peter Wright – no matter how much Snake Bite tires himself out with all those jumps he does to the tune of his walk on. Ah Peter. You try to look so energetic but your legs hardly get you off the ground. He’ll knock over Chisnall in a close one.

Simon Whitlock vs Gary Anderson

Right Mr Whitlock. Hope this week has been sickness free and you step up to the oche with a little more fight this week, because we certainly don’t want to see another below 90 match average! This week the Wizard takes on Gary Anderson who averaged 100 but still got belted by an on fire Barney in week 1. No doubt that the Beard to be Feared will improve on his efforts from last week, but will it be enough to beat the Flying Scotsman who is throwing some good arrows at the moment? We’ll be cheering on Whitlock the whole way, but Anderson is the tip in this one.

Phil Taylor vs Adrian Lewis

This could be an absolute cracker of a game if both players turn up. We all know about the amazing contests that these two have had in the past. Taylor hit two 9 darters in the UK Open qualifiers during the week, including one against Lewis in the final, to win the match. Taylor is going to be out to inflict as much pain as he can, let’s hope Lewis can put up a fight! But Taylor is the tip.

Michael Van Gerwen vs Robert Thornton

Van Gerwen is simply an unstoppable, double fist pumping machine at the moment. The only thing that will prevent him winning this is if he gets whiplash from one of those reactions he has to a good or bad third dart. Thorton will be thrown around like a rag doll if he’s not careful.
